WHO ARE WE?

Savannah Federation of Teachers/PSRP members are as diverse as Chatham County itself. We are teachers, counselors, clerks, paraprofessionals, secretaries, food service workers, custodians, maintenance, and all eligible Board employees. We are the workers in the schools who directly impact the lives of children on a daily basis. Since no administrators can belong to SFT/PSRP, we truly are the voice of the employees in our schools and at our workplaces.We are your fellow church and synagogue members. We are involved in your community organizations. We are working together to improve the quality of life for children and workers.

to secure fair wages and pay raises for all employees.
to continually address the School Board with issues and concerns of school employees.
to provide professional developement opportunities to employees through our annual professional issues conferences.
to provide an arena for communication and discussion of issues, networking and shared ideas through social events, membership and committee meetings.
to advocate the hiring of qualified employees.
to advocate excellence in administration through SFT's Principal of the Year Recognition Program.
to prevent the growth of privitization in our school district, which threatens the quality and efficiency of services and the integrity of our fellow school employees.
to secure and maintain collective bargaining for the employees of the Savannah-Chatham County board of Education.
